Parking and Restrooms: Fennimore, Lancaster
This route is a favorite of local cyclists. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Big Green River along the northern section of the loop. If you’re an angler, take a break to drop your line in the Big Green, a class 1 trout stream. The eastern leg of the loop - Mt Ridge Road, Borah Road, Link Road, Rogers Road, Roger Hollow Road – offers rolling hills and scenic vistas. The western leg of the loop crosses the Grant River a few miles north of Lancaster and offers a challenging but beautiful ride. A stop in Fennimore at the Railroad Museum or the Doll and Toy Museum is a pleasant diversion for “kids” of all ages. And picture yourself in downtown Lancaster with its historic Midwestern town square and a majestic county courthouse with a glass and copper dome that is visible for miles.
