Parking/Restrooms -- Platteville, Rewey
Be prepared to witness the “World’s Largest M” in the nation, the landmark of Platteville and the University of Wisconsin –Platteville. This smaller section of the Badger Camp Ride offers the same spectacular views and challenging hills to ride. The M is the work of a couple clever engineering students at nearby UW-Platteville. In the winter of 1936, the engineering department was enlisted to build this permanent reminder of their alma mater. Four hundred tons of light-colored limestone was placed here to form a symmetrical “M” that some say has been seen from space. If you’re up for an additional challenge, take a break at the “M” and climb the 265 steps to the top. The incredible view is well worth it. The ride also takes you through the village of Rewey, famous around these parts for a spectacular fireworks display every July.
