Parking and Restrooms: Montfort, Cobb, Livingston
The welcoming villages of Cobb, Montfort and Livingston greet you to a relaxing ride in the typical gentle rolling hills of Southwest Wisconsin. This loop has great views of the Windmill Farm. You can see these graceful structures from several of our loops, but this one takes you the closest. The largest wind farm in Wisconsin, its 20 turbines produce enough power to supply approximately 10,500 homes. They’re nearly as tall as a 33-story building – that’s the closest we get to skyscrapers in our corner of the world. If you happen along this ride in the late afternoon you will have a beautiful silhouette of the Wind Mills in the orange glow of the western sky. The historic Old Rock Methodist Church just outside of Livingston on Old Rock Church Road is worth a stop. Built in 1851 by early settlers you can visualize the labor that it took to build this building out of solid rock. Whatever the season you will traverse near meandering streams, wide-open farmland fields and quite possibly you will stumble on pheasants and wild turkeys. This is not a difficult ride, a loop that can be enjoyed by the average biker.
